An online Centre of Excellence for the extractives industry has been formed by the Canadian government as part of its recently introduced CSR action plan. The internet project, still being developed by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, will ultimately promote the Global Reporting Initiative internationally. The website will showcase ‘high-quality CSR information’ and provide a forum for extractive industry stakeholders.
