The Council of Registered Gas Installers (CORGI) has completed a review of its reputation management.

The review, by the consultancy group Arthur D. Little, involved interviews with stakeholders, including employees, of the UK gas safety watchdog.

Arthur D Little’s product definition consultant, David Brown claimed the exercise was unusually complex ‘because CORGI combines a regulatory and public safety mission with many of the normal commercial activities of a business’.

He said the review ‘recommended improvements to aspects of internal and external communication together with greater efforts to make common cause with other industry organizations on matters of gas safety.’

He added that benchmarking CORGI’s performance against other organizations had shown that CORGI was ‘already handling most aspects of its reputation effectively’.

The review was convened by Katherine Howard, chair of the CORGI audit committee.
