A European carpet manufacturer has begun lobbying for changes to waste legislation. Interface, one of the first commercial enterprises to push for tighter environmental regulation, has initiated a War on Waste campaign to force the European Union to legislate against landfill and make recycling cheaper and more consistently priced. It has created a website outlining the problems with present laws that, it says, make recycling commercially unviable. The campaign is seeking signatures from non-governmental organizations, sustainability practitioners, governments and other stakeholders.
