Britain has launched its first prosecution of a company executive for alleged corruption overseas. The move, which follows global pressure on the UK government to tighten up on corruption by British firms abroad, involves allegations that Robert Dougall, a former vice president of DePuy International, a subsidiary of the US healthcare company Johnson & Johnson, tried to bribe Greek officials to buy medical products. The case is being brought by the Serious Fraud Office and will be heard later this year.
