Spanish bank BBVA has bucked the recessionary trend by appointing six new corporate responsibility practitioners across its operations.
While some companies have cut back on CSR staff over the past year, BBVA has recently hired three to work at its group headquarters in Madrid, plus two in Portugal and Spain, and one in Mexico.
Antoni Ballabriga, director of corporate responsibility, told EP the recruitment drive means BBVA now has 60 staff who are '100 per cent dedicated to CSR', although a third of them work in BBVA-supported foundations.
