The reputational risk index RepRisk said the five were 'severely criticized’ by the world's media, governmental organizations and non-governmental organizations for issues including human rights abuses, severe environmental violations, impacts on local communities, corruption and bribery, and breaches of health and safety standards during the period.
The rankings are based on news published around the world, with weightings according to how far the news stories reach, the frequency of the negative press, and content considerations such as the severity and uniqueness of the issues covered.
