Twelve senior business executives have formed the Irish Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change.

The new grouping will push for ‘a step-change in climate change policy’ in Ireland. It has already presented a communique to the prime minister, Brian Cowen, urging the government to introduce a tough climate change law.

The group, founded at the behest of Business in the Community Ireland, Friends of the Earth and Vodafone, includes chief executives from companies such as Arup, Bewley’s, BT, Diageo, Intel, KPMG, NTR, Siemens and Zurich.
