Train firm would be mutual-owned

Plans to create a ‘socially responsible’ train operator have been unveiled in Britain.

Go Co-operative is seeking £250,000 from socially minded investors for initial work to set up as the first train provider running as a co-operative. The organization, which aims to start with a service in southern England, wants to ‘reduce the social and environmental impacts of travel by providing mutually owned, high-quality and inclusive public transport services that encourage people to choose more sustainable options’.
