London police take up CSR

London’s Metropolitan Police, the largest police service in the UK, is to appoint a CSR manager for the first time.

The service, which employs more than 50,000 frontline officers and backroom staff, has been looking for an experienced corporate responsibility professional to create a ‘comprehensive management strategy’ on social and environmental topics.

Among issues likely to be on the agenda are sustainable procurement, community engagement, green travel plans, and energy use reduction.
