A programme has been established to develop responsible business leadership and dialogue in the Arab world. The Middle East Leadership Initiative has been set up by the US-based non-profit Aspen Institute, with support from the Saudi Telecom Company and the consultancy Booz and Company. Initially, MELI will bring together 21 entrepreneurial leaders under the age of 45. These ‘fellows’ will explore aspects of leadership in the Middle East for 18 months. MELI’s mission is ‘to foster enlightened leadership, the appreciation of timeless ideas and values, and open-minded dialogue on contemporary issues’.
