A total of 403 companies were de-listed by the United Nations Global Compact last year for failing to submit ‘communications on progress’ (COPs) detailing their efforts to observe the Compact’s ten principles. However, the Compact Office says a record 1732 COPs were posted on its website last year, 25 per cent more than in 2007. It claims this shows more companies are meeting the requirements.
