Dubai favours ‘minimalist’ line

Businesses in the United Arab Emirates take a generally limited view of what CSR involves, says new research.

A survey of Dubai companies found three-quarters saw CSR as a way of keeping a competitive position. Other popular views were that it was mainly about observing regulations and improving brand image.

Anis Ben Brik, a consultant who conducted the research, noted that many UAE companies ‘adopt a minimalist view of their role in society’.
