Tony Hodge is to be the full-time president of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM). Hodge, at present professor of mining and sustainability at Queen’s University, Canada, takes up his position in October, succeeding Paul Mitchell, who left last month. John Groom, who has spent much of his career working on sustainable development at Anglo American, has been released by the company on full-time secondment to act as chief operating officer at ICMM until Hodge starts.
