Access to a website critical of the United Nations Global Compact has been reopened to staff at UN headquarters in New York after complaints that they were blocked from viewing it. The UN said access had been denied not on the orders of the Compact Office but by a firm that manages the UN’s information technology, which had been concerned about spam. ‘We don’t have any interest in blocking sites that are critical of the Global Compact’, said the Office. ‘In fact we visit the site often.’
