The Business Social Compliance Initiative has signed up its 100th member – German retail group Rewe. The Brussels-based organization, whose members seek to improve conditions in their supply chains, was founded in 2003 but has seen rapid growth in the past two years. Members are mainly from Europe, but Asian businesses have also recently joined. So far the non-profit body has carried out more than 3500 social audits for member firms, covering 2500 suppliers.
