Dole Thailand, part of the huge Dole Food Company, the worldwide producer of fresh fruit, vegetables and cut flowers, has received the 2007 Grand Winner Award and a 2007 Excellence Award from US businesspeople.
It shares the awards with another Dole division, the Standard Fruit Company de Costa Rica.
The awards, given by US chambers of commerce, recognize exceptional commitment to improvements in companies’ surrounding communities, people and culture by practising social accountability, environmental responsibility and providing education.
Graeme Cox, Dole Thailand’s managing director, said: ‘Dole realized a long time ago that what’s good for the community is good for business. We are pleased that our work with the community has been recognized and look forward to many more years of investment and commitment to the Thai people.’
