Russian extractives company Rusal has announced a social investment programme in Nigeria. It will support education, healthcare, water treatment and electricity projects in the state of Akwa Ibom in the Niger Delta basin where it smelts aluminium. Rusal, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, has signed a partnership agreement with the state government and will also work with local organizations.
