Merrill Lynch has taken a minority stake in Asset4, the Switzerland-based environmental, social and corporate governance research provider. As part of the deal, the investment bank will incorporate Asset4’s extra-financial information into its investment research and ‘product structuring’. Merrill Lynch said it wanted ‘to address the increasing demand from clients to review sustainability criteria’.
