Insight Investment had 400 formal engagements with companies on corporate responsibility topics last year. Most of the discussions were on two issues – health and safety (154) and climate change risks (122). However, the fund manager also talked to companies about consumer health and obesity (13), human rights (nine), new and emerging technologies (17), ethical supply chain management (15) and general CSR management and reporting (26). The figures are disclosed in Insight’s first annual report on corporate governance and investor responsibility activities, produced in line with the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment, to which the company is a signatory. Altogether Insight spoke to 228 companies about 16 CSR or corporate governance issues.
