Less than half of all listed global electric utilities have responded to a request made by institutional investors for data on their emissions of greenhouse gases. Only 112 of the 265 largest electric utilities supplied the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) with the information, which forms the basis of the CDP’s Global Electric Utilities report. Paul Dickinson, co-ordinator of the CDP, the world’s largest investor collaboration on climate change, said: ‘This makes it extremely difficult for those investors wanting to avoid funding carbon-intensive industry to make a well-informed decision.’
