A group of 25 business leaders convened by the Prince of Wales’s Business and Environment Programme has written an open letter to Jose Manuel Barroso, the European Commission president, calling for ‘urgent action’ on climate change. Seventeen of the leaders, who include Markus Akermann and Bart Becht, chief executives of Holcim and Reckitt Benckiser respectively, met Barroso in London to ‘explore how they can work in partnership with the president in tackling climate change’.
