The Vietnamese government has approved a national programme on labour
protection, safety and sanitation to improve working conditions and
reduce labour accidents and occupational diseases. The programme, with
state funding 232billion dong ($14.7million), will be implemented in
the years up to 2010. Most of the funding will be spent on improving
working conditions, preventing workplace accidents and enhancing the
quality of management.
