Vodafone Group heads this year's global Accountability Rating, which assesses the world's largest companies against six social and environmental measures. Companies performed better overall than in previous years, despite tighter criteria, but petroleum companies showed weaker performance. The ranking is compiled annually by the csrnetwork consultancy and the AccountAbility think-tank.
