The BBC pension scheme is to abide by the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment, which lay down socially responsible investment guidelines for signatories. The move is being claimed as a victory for the FairPensions campaign group, which has lobbied the pension funds of companies that are generally regarded as CSR leaders to adopt responsible investment policies. The BBC scheme, one of the UK's 20 biggest funds, has about 60,000 members and is worth £7.5billion (£14bn).
