North American gold mining company Goldcorp has been admitted to the Jantzi Social Index. Jantzi Research, the Canadian social and environmental research company that runs the index, said Vancouver-based Goldcorp’s environmental, social and governance performance is now above average within its peer group after showing ‘strong improvement in recent years’ – particularly on community engagement, emissions, and health and safety. The JSI consists of 60 Canadian companies that pass a set of broadly based social and environmental screens.
