The UK government is hoping to push the Company Law Reform Bill through
the House of Commons before the end of July. Ministers expect the Bill,
which will introduce a new requirement on companies to produce an
annual ‘business review’ that could address social and environmental
issues, will finish its third reading stage by 19 July and be passed
before the summer recess on 25 July. Opposition MPs have been lobbying
for debate to continue in October, after the recess.
