The UK government is hoping to push the Company Law Reform Bill through the House of Commons before the end of July. Ministers expect the Bill, which will introduce a new requirement on companies to produce an annual ‘business review’ that could address social and environmental issues, will finish its third reading stage by 19 July and be passed before the summer recess on 25 July. Opposition MPs have been lobbying for debate to continue in October, after the recess.
