Seventy per cent of companies on the Toronto Stock Exchange Composite Index now publicly disclose sustainability information, up from 35 per cent five years ago. The latest biennial survey of CSR reporting by the Canadian consultancy Stratos puts Vancity (banking) and Telus (telecoms) in the top two spots for quality. Stratos named 114 Canadian companies that either publish stand-alone reports or integrate the information into annual reports, with the quality of information given ‘continuing to rise’.
