NatWest is being targeted by a new campaign focusing on its dealings with a UK laboratory.

A coalition of animal welfare groups, which wants the bank to terminate a £25 million loan to Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS), has begun weekly protests outside NatWest branches and plans a national demonstration on 12 February to call for a boycott by customers. NatWest spokesman Tony Stephenson told EP: ‘HLS is a legitimate business. We do not believe it would be responsible to withdraw financial support to any company where it is judged it would have a viable future.’
