One of the first intensive training courses for CSR managers in Asian companies is being held in Beijing on May 26 and 27. The main theme will be building better business in China through CSR, though a broader view will also be taken.

Issues prominent in China will be considered in detail, and a discussion session will look at likely future problems, as well as the order in which they should be tackled. Another session will ask how brand and reputation can be linked to CSR.

Although the course is aimed primarily at CSR managers, it is open to non-governmental organizations, representatives of business associations, consultants and any others interested in improving their knowledge of the subject.

The course is being run by CSR Asia, the information, research and training organization, and Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit, a German government enterprise that tries to improve living conditions in partner countries and conserve their natural resources.

The course costs $500 (£285).
