A nationwide essay competition on the subject of CSR has been organized in China for students, teachers and practitioners interested in CSR issues.

The directory publishing firm China CSR Map is asking entrants to outline, in English or Chinese, why they consider CSR to be important in contemporary China. The organizers say winners will be chosen for their ‘originality, clarity and use of thoughtful yet concrete proposals for building and improving CSR in China’.

The first prize is 3000 renminbi ($373, £213), the second 2000 renminbi and the third 1000 renminbi. Another ten prizes will go to the most innovative entrants. The closing date is 18 March.

Outstanding articles will appear in the publication The Top CSR Organizations in China.
