ABN Amro has come top of a league table of Dutch companies on social and environmental performance. The Transparency Benchmark, commissioned by the Dutch economic affairs ministry and applied by management consultancy Berenschot, used 58 indicators to assess 100 listed and 79 private Dutch companies for their impact on society, their treatment of stakeholders and the extent to which they had embedded CSR in their operations. ABN Amro scored 91 points out of a possible 100, compared with an average of 45 for all companies in the study.
