Samsung China leads Chinese Fortune 500 companies on overall CSR
performance according to a new list compiled by Nanfang Weekend, a
newspaper in Guangdong, China. Samsung’s score of 69.4 is well ahead of
second-placed Volkswagen China, which achieved 57.7.
Next on the list were Philips China (53.3), Motorola China (53.2) and General Motors China (51.6).
Rankings of this kind are becoming increasingly popular in China. Observers say the practice is making corporate behaviour more transparent and gives people an opportunity to see how foreign companies are performing.
Nanfang Weekend has published a second table of China’s top eight most caring companies. Nissan takes first place.
