The top European companies are twice as likely to publish social reports as their US counterparts, a study has revealed. The survey by UK consultancy Context has found that 84 of the 100 largest European businesses report on their social and environmental performance, while only 36 of the biggest US companies do so. Coverage of CSR issues is also less among US companies, with only seven per cent of those that do produce reports covering human rights matters, compared with 43 per cent of European companies. In the US, 27 per cent of companies that produce reports assess supply chain issues, compared with 64 per cent in Europe.
