Al Fry, one of the leading lights in the early days of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, has died in a fishing accident in the US. Fry joined the council when it was founded 12 years ago. Last year, after he had retired, he was awarded the organization's Order of Outstanding Contributors to Sustainable Development. The council said he was 'widely regarded ... as one of the founding fathers and architects of business and sustainable development'.
