Too few investors in New Zealand are aware of initiatives elsewhere in the world that tackle climate change and ensure investment takes account of social and environmental considerations. The claim was made by Dr Robert Howell, chair of the New Zealand Council for Socially Responsible Investment, in his report to the organization's annual meeting.
Howell said the council had set goals to inform New Zealanders of the issues guiding SRI, to bring together interested parties, and to forge links with overseas groups. He said that in the next two years the council wanted to establish working parties and forums to promote SRI.
