Ed Williams, the head of CSR at Marks & Spencer, is leaving after 25 years with the UK retailer.
Under his watch, Marks and Spencer was named Company of the Year in 2004 by Business in the Community – in the UK, the highest accolade in the field. One of the best known proponents of CSR, Williams was heavily involved in the Corporate Responsibility Group.
He is taking early retirement to establish an executive coaching partnership. His successor is Mike Barry, who is currently sustainable development manager at M&S.
