Chinese leaders show way

The China Business Leaders Forum, a corporate-led initiative, will be set up in March by the International Business Leaders Forum. Its aim will be to ensure continuous improvement in business conditions for all companies, foreign and domestic, operating in China. The emphasis will be on business transparency standards and practices.

In a separate move, a booklet in Chinese and English outlining China’s occupational health and safety standards as they apply to low-end manufacturing workplaces is to be published by CSR Asia. Businesses affected would typically be shoe, toy and garment factories.
