Asia Pulp & Paper has signed an agreement with the World Wide Fund for Nature on the management of forests in Sumatra. The Indonesian company, which has been targeted by environmental campaigns for a number of years, will work with its fibre suppliers, the Sinar Mas group, to produce an action plan by 2004 on the sustainability of its forest resources. It has pledged to improve checks on its sources of supply.
