Carillion and National Grid Transco have been short-listed in the large company section of the UK’s annual Impact on Society Award, which acknowledges the commitment of companies towards improving their positive impact on society.
Short-listed in the small company section of the same award, which is part of the Awards for Excellence run by Business in the Community, are Adnams, Flag, and Happy Computers.
Finalists in other sections of the annual awards, which will be announced on 10 July, are: International Award for international corporate citizenship: BBC, Citigroup, Standard Chartered.
Innovation Award for responsible business practices or partnerships leading to changes in society: Boots, HSBC, National Grid Transco, Swiss Life, Zurich.
Diversity Award: B&Q, BT, Procter & Gamble.
Healthy Communities Award for impact on a social issue: Barclays, BT, British Gas, Marks & Spencer, National Grid Transco, Zurich.
