TotalFinaElf is using the UK-based GoodCorporation organization to help improve its ethical performance. The French oil company, which has struggled with reputational problems over spillages and its involvement in conflict zones, will use the GoodCorporation standard, drawn up with the Institute of Business Ethics, to monitor its performance against its own code of conduct. ‘We want to find out where we have to improve,’ said Jean-Pierre Cordier, chairman of TotalFinaElf’s ethics committee.
