ChevronTexaco has signed a partnership agreement with the United Nations Development Programme to help bring $10million (£6m) of aid to Angola. The project, sanctioned by the African country’s government, will aim to promote ‘sustainable, economic and social growth’ by supporting small businesses through the Angola Enterprise Fund. The company will put $5m into the fund, UNDP $1m and philanthropic sources $4m.
