Amec has begun work on in-house human rights guidelines. The UK-based construction company said: ‘We’re consulting as many people as we can about an appropriate set of measurements for a company like ourselves in terms of human rights. We also need to develop mechanisms to determine which projects we should embark upon from a human rights perspective.’ Amec has been criticized in the past by environmentalists for its work on dam projects.
