Nestle is supporting a community health programme that aims to check the spread of HIV/Aids in Africa. The Swiss food group is giving CHF3million, ($1.9m, £1.3m) over three years as founding corporate sponsor of the Africa Health Initiative 2010 begun by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Nestle’s contribution will initially finance home care for 7000 people in Nigeria with 300 volunteers providing counselling.
