Pharmaceutical company Roche is to cut the price of the Aids drug nelfinavir by 40 per cent in Brazil to ensure its availability to poor people. Brazilian government ministers had threatened to ignore the drug’s patent protection by producing it cheaply at a state-owned laboratory for general distribution.
