A taskforce is to be set up by the UK Foreign Office to examine allegations that use of forced labour is widespread in the cocoa industry of West Africa. The group will be composed of representatives from business, the government and pressure groups. UK manufacturers, including Cadbury’s, have claimed that there are few instances of forced labour in West Africa.
