MetaVu, Inc., a leading sustainability and environmental performance consulting firm, today announced it has been selected to instruct a prestigious Utility University® course and moderate an expert panel at the DistribuTECH 2012 Conference and Exhibition, the leading annual smart grid event, in San Antonio, January 22-26. Leading investors praised the Obama Administration’s release today of proposed fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions standards – standards that will raise automobile fuel economy to 54.5 miles per gallon on average by 2025, up from 27.3 today.

Ceres and several of its investor partners said the new standards will spur innovation and U.S. job creation, advance public health, and be a consumer-friendly leap forward for an American and global environment threatened by climate change and dependence on oil. The regulations are expected to be finalized next July.

EcoAlign, a strategic marketing agency in the energy sector, released the findings today of a consumer survey examining customer metrics utilized in the utility sector and other sectors, including customer satisfaction scores and alternative customer metrics. One thousand Americans nationwide responded to the survey conducted in September 2011. EcoAlign conducted the survey in conjunction with the Customer Care Research Consortium (CCRC).

IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishings retailer, today officially plugged-in two Blink Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations at its Portland, Oregon store as  part of its partnership with ECOtality, Inc. (NASDAQ:ECTY), a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies. This initiative is the first such project for IKEA in the United States. Installation also is planned at eight other IKEA stores in the Western U.S.
