Following a comprehensive evaluation, the South Carolina State Board of Education has approved the Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 editions of Discovery Education’s Math Techbook for statewide use as a core instructional resource through its state adoption process. South Carolina’s adoption of the Math Techbook empowers the state’s school systems to use State Board of Education approved instructional materials funding to purchase and integrate this innovative digital curriculum

The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), a coalition of leading companies dedicated to improving the security and human rights conditions in their mineral supply chains, today announced voluntary guidelines to drive the common adoption of definitions and concepts in the application of blockchain-enabled solutions. The RMI Guidelines represent a first industry effort to define a common set of principles, attributes and definitions for the application of blockchain technology to support mineral supply chain due diligence.

National Grid, City of Schenectady Begin Work on Smart City Streetlight Initiative

National Grid and the City of Schenectady have begun work that will transform the municipality into a “smart city” by deploying advance street lighting technology.  The work will start on Union Street between North College Street and Washington Avenue and will include retrofitting 18 streetlights with intelligent control nodes with a mixture of soft-white and daylight temperature LED bulbs.  This project is a first of its kind partnership between a municipality and a utility company.

GIGA and Toxnot Partner to Simplify Building Product Transparency Reporting

A new integration partnership, between Toxnot and GIGA, enables Toxnot users to connect their building product disclosures directly to GIGA’s Origin Material Hub. Building product disclosures, which are created on Toxnot are recognized by the mindful MATERIALS (mM) Program and can be highlighted in the mindful MATERIALS Library. This integration allows manufacturers to submit their transparency data, thru Origin, to the mM Library without additional data management efforts.

Lockheed Martin has partnered with Discovery Education on Generation Beyond: Aviation, a digital STEM curriculum that takes students behind-the-scenes with Lockheed Martin engineers and scientists to solve real-world technology challenges, from fighting wildfires to making flight suits for military pilots safer.
