COP21

Held Nov. 30 through Dec. 11, 2015, the COP21 climate talks brought world leaders from nearly 200 countries to Paris to discuss a global climate agreement. Adopted on Dec. 12, the <a href="https://www.triplepundit.com/2015/12/cop21-paris-agreement-art-possible… Agreement</a> is now making its way through the process to become legally binding.

A total of 175 nations <a href="https://www.triplepundit.com/2016/04/cheat-sheet-paris-agreement-signin… the Paris Agreement on Earth Day of 2016</a>, and 15 parties formally joined the agreement. In order for the agreement to go into effect and become legally binding, at least 55 countries representing 55 percent of global emissions need to formally join.
